We are looking for an Experienced Brewer to join the production team at our craft brewery in Rivington, Lancashire. 

Key responsibilities:

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be joining a busy and truly collaborative business, increasing our production team from three to four people. 

We like our brewers to be involved in all aspects of the production process with set tasks assigned each week.  Therefore, you will have the opportunity and be required to be involved in; brewing, cellaring, packaging, warehousing and recipe development. We have recently started a clean and mixed ferm barrel program which you will also be involved in. 

We’ve also got a busy festival schedule planned, allowing you the opportunity to represent Rivington Brewing Co both in the UK and abroad.

Duties include:

  • Operating our manual 20HL JBDxPureweld brew kit

  • Cellar management; fermentation control, cellar testing, dry hopping, carbonation and DO

  • Operating our Microcan CL5 canning line

  • Filling kegs, cans & casks

  • Bottling our barrel-aged beers

  • Warehousing, palletising and packaging orders for distribution and retail

  • CIP of brewkit, FVs and packaging lines 

  • Detailed and accurate record-keeping across all aspects of production

  • Maintaining a high standard of hygiene throughout the production facility 

  • Stock management and control

  • Travelling to festivals and events representing the business 

  • Rotational shift patterns with the production team, including rotating weekend cellaring duties

Key Competencies and Experience:

  • At least one year of commercial brewing experience

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness 

  • Ability to maintain accurate records 

  • Strong time management and multitasking skills 

  • Effective communication skills

  • Eclectic music taste

Nice to haves:

  • Relevant brewing qualification (IBD, Brewing MSc, Food Science etc) 

  • Forklift truck driving experience

  • Previously used Breww Brewery Management Software
